Donate to the Iran Floods Appeal

Severe rainfall, flash floods and mudslides have affected thousands of people across Iran. The floodwaters have taken lives, cut off roads, destroyed crops and damaged infrastructure. At least 23 out of 31 provinces are affected, with Golestan Province receiving 70 per cent of its annual rainfall in just one day.

Many families have lost everything – including loved ones. Iranian Red Crescent aid workers are working throughout the disaster zone, evacuating people to safety and distributing emergency supplies.

In response, the Iranian Canadian Congress (ICC) is supporting Red Cross and Red Crescent efforts on the ground.

We know that when responding to an emergency of this magnitude, the generosity of Canadians is essential to providing comfort and care.

The Iranian Red Crescent is at the forefront of humanitarian response efforts, with more than 11,000 relief workers reaching nearly 200,000 people with life-saving care and support already, but much more help is needed.

The Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement is working to coordinate emergency relief efforts and get help to people in affected areas as quickly as possible. Money raised will enable the Red Cross and Red Crescent to provide shelter, basic needs and livelihood support in response to this disaster.

On behalf of the Iranian Canadian Congress (ICC), we would like to extend our deepest gratitude for your donation during these trying moments.

"When man finally learns to control the elements... When the winds will be quiet and the earth cannot be torn apart...When there will be no loneliness... no destitution... no war... When the last hungry man, woman or child is fed... Only then will there be no need for the Red Cross."

– Albert Schweitzer, Nobel Peace Prize winner
